About the Writer

Rita Youngblood rabalais

I have been writing stories in my head for decades!  Now that I am retired from teaching full time, I have the opportunity to actually put words on paper.  Telling a good story brings me joy.  I hope reading one brings you joy also!

My Latest Book

The Piano's Song is my most recently published book.  It tells the story of a piano's life and its many homes from the piano's point of view.  Kathern Peal illustrated it using beautiful, original oil paintings.

My Mother's Story

My first book, Seventy Times Seven,  is based on a story my mother told me as a little girl.  It is a story of friendship and forgiveness set during the depression era.  If you have ever wanted something, received it, and then lost it too soon, you will be able to relate.

About Handmade Rag Dolls

Hand made rag dolls

After writing the book Seventy Times Seven, I wanted a rag doll to complement the story.  I couldn't find one I liked, so I began making them myself.  The dolls are available for purchase with a book or seperately.
